SMASHBOX BE LEGENDARY MATTE LIPSTICK IN INFRARED REVIEW AND SWATCH

SMASHBOX BE LEGENDARY LIPSTICK- INFRARED (ABOVE)!

At $21.00 and 0.10 oz it's not the most expensive lipstick out there but it's not the cheapest either. Talking only about high end makeup this lipstick and usually this brand really delivers. Usually you can feel fairly comfortable making an online purchase with this brand but when it comes to lipstick looking at their photoshopped pics as advertised can really get you a little upset when it gets to you and you put it on it's not at all what you expected. Looking at the pic above and then getting this color on your lips (below) could be disappointing.
Here's the color barely touched to my lips and spread out with finger for light color (first pic) and here's the pic of the full color pressing fully to the lip all the way around (second pic).

And here's more swatches:

Review: as advertised it goes on very smooth and creamy. The color is very potent and there's not any patchiness during application. You can use a little or a lot to get the color payoff that you want for day or night.
I have no bad things to say about this lipstick other than that it bleeds a bit onto my liplines. I didn't use any lip primer or liner. I wanted to see how this worked as intended right out of the tube.
The tube is smooth feeling and it's small but not too small to use comfortably. It's got the trademark smashbox black case with white smashbox lettering.

Three hours later: it's faded quite a bit but a tint of color is still there.

Five hours later: gone completely after eating, smoking, drinking, and living life normally.

I feel that you kind of have to choose. Some matte colors last forever but dry your lips out like this example below. Keep in mind the brand being shown below is by no means the only one that does this and that's exactly my point.

You have to choose between extremely drying matte color that's not going anywhere or a creamy, moisturizing matte color that you may have to reapply every few hours.

I personally would choose the ladder and if that's what im choosing this is a great lipstick. Not the best out there, but again for twenty bucks it's not bad.

Stay tuned for my urban decay spectrum and too faced chocolate bon bons review and tutorials coming up next.
A horrible angle of me wearing my Smashbox Infrared lipstick and Too Faced chocolate Bon Bons Palette.
