Free easy baby toddler slipper booties crochet pattern

Baby or toddler booties/ slipper crochet pattern for beginners!

Use size K 6.50 mm hook Pattern: magic loop or chain 4 stitches in a closed circle. If chained, close with slip stitch.
Row two single crochet in each chain plus add two stitches every for a total of six.
Row three: increase to ten stitches. Only use single crochet stitches for entire pattern unless otherwise specified.
Row 4 single crochet
Row 5 increase to 11 stitches and continue until 2 1/2 in (2 3/4, 2 3/4, 3 in)
After achieving length single.crochet 8 stitches in a half circle and continue that until the bootie measures 5 3/4 in ( 6 in, 6 1/4 in, 6 1/2 in)
When length is reached turn bootie inside out fold lengthwise in half and stitch the heel closed with slip stitches.
Single crochet around foot opening one row then slip stitch next row then weave in ends.
To make pom pom: wrap yarn in circle around 15 times then tie in the middle with a seperate piece of yarn tightly. There will then be a “bow” with two sides. You can use it that way for girls or for pom pom cut the side of the bow open on each side and fan strings out and cut so that they are all the same length. You can either tie it into a crochet loop with the middle piece of yarn if you left it long enough or sew it on.
Placement for the pom pom is complete personal preference. I thought of placing it on the side, back or front of the cuff or in the middle front of the toe, but ended.up deciding on the front of the toe for a sillier look because thats my sons personality but make it your own with your own yarn choices and colors and design options.
