How to make a body pillow or any size pillow or pillow cover for cheap. Under $5

This is a super easy tutorial on how to make a body pillow for almost nothing. These directions can be used for any size square or rectangle pillow. All you need is one yard of fabric or less depending on your size of pillow.
 Supplies:
1) sewing needle and thread our sewing machine.
2) 1/2 to 1 yard of fabric (I bought mine from Wal-Mart for 3.97 per yard but peddlers malls and thrift shops often have almost free fabric or you can use old curtains, sheets, or any fabric you have on hand)
3) ruler or tape measurer
4) light marker or pencil

These are the two I personally made. The pictures from here on out are pictures to demonstrate each simple step. I got them from Google images so they come from various sources.

The tune it takes for this project depends on how you're doing it. If you're using a sewing machine it can take ten min. If you're sewing by hand it can take an hour but it really depends on your speed.

Step 1: lay your fabric out and measure each side and use a ruler to draw your lines with a light colored marker or pencil then cut along the lines then do exactly the same to another piece.

Step 2: lay them with right side of fabric facing in towards each other like the pillow is inside out. Pin each side so it stays out and lined up correctly as you sew. 

Just a side note, you can use iron on hemming tape if you would rather not sew. Follow the sabe directions here until the sewing portion then follow hemming tape directions then continue to follow directions here.

Step 3: after pinning start sewing all the way around until there's about four inches left not sewed. Stop here for now

Step 4: turn right side out and poke corners out with your fingers

Step 5: fill with Cotton, batting, feathers or whatever you choose. I cut open old pillows I had and used that.

Step 6: curl the edges in and pin. Sew the rest of the way.

Voila! You're done!

Juniper moon farms herriot heathers review

 I'm sort of a yarn snob. Ive been knitting and crocheting for a good year now. Thats every day. I'm in love with it. Knitting was my main dream but I had no one to teach me and had to learn off random youtube videos and online articles, etc. I became too frustrated and gave up a few times until I actually got it. Now theres no knitting technique I cannot do and no abbreviation I do not know. Crochet I could never get a straight edge. That bothered me so I don't do it so much anymore but I did recently make a pattern that you can find here on my blog for baby booties. You can also find me on ravelry. Im curlypurlybeth.
 Now on to my review. This yarn is Juniper Moon Farm- Herriott Heathers. This shade is called 1018 Pink Heather. This Heather collection is truly a heather bunch. The cors are pale and somewhat natural. They are so beautiful and are exactly what you would think of when thinking of Heather colors. 
 This is a serious squishy yarn. Once I grabbed this at my lys after grabbing and touching literally every ball in store, I knew this was the one. It sat around for a couple months in a special box. Not because I didn't want to use it, but because I wanted to make something I would absolutely love and wear often. Something like a shirt or a sweater. I had three balls. Bought a fourth when my lys got them back in stock. At 19.99 a pop it's not the craziest yarn and not something I could afford often. Compared to other high end natural yarns of the same quality this is of the lower price ends. 
 Anyway, I finally started a project. The Ginny owl cardigan. Then I started reading about how baby alpaca (which this yarn is %100) and alpaca yarn aren't good for form fitting garments. I was so upset. I looked and looked for anything to the contrary but couldn't find a thing. Then I contacted someone who made a form fitting dress out of this yarn. I was excited to work with this yarn so after looking through what seemed to be thousands of patterns I finally found another. A lace bust, three quarter sleeve shirt from garnstudio. I ripped out my six inches of cardigan and started over. Then the lady got back to me and said it kept its form fine. Horrible timing! Lol anyway I decided I wanted to do this garnstudio shirt in the garn yarn pictured So I ripped this out too. After all this I was worried about the yarn but honestly it looked just like new. The quality is amazing! 
 Do I finally picked a v neck sweater from purl soho that I will be adding a hood too from some free pattern I find later. I've added my own waist shaping and am working on the bust shaping now. I will do a post on the finished product (hopefully sooner, rather than later.)
 The stitch definition is amazing and the feel of both stockinette, ribbed and reverse stockinette is just as soft as the yarn in skein. The color is true to pictures, saturated and similar all the way through. Pretty amazing as I believe these are hand dyed.
 Also I hand wound this into a ball from the open skein being held around my knees. Two skeins wound and no tangles that weren't my fault. Just a tip. Don't wind your skeins until ready to use. This just stretches the yarn.
 This yarn holds its shape and definition like no other alpaca I've experienced. This is one of the softest yarns I've had the pleasure to work with and will be a go to favorite of mine. 
 This is described by the company as a DK weight to light worsted. The above picture for size comparison is one thread of yarn next to one normal sized sewing machine thread.
 If you have the chance please purchase this and stitch it into something beautiful that you can wear and love when you need a little extra hug of softness in warmth. This yarn is truly heirloom quality. You won't be disappointed. I rate this 10/10, and as I said I'm a yarn snob so that's saying something if I give that rating.

Beginner summer nail art for short nails 2016

This is a really easy tutorial that I've gotten a ton of compliments on. 

I will list the colors at the end of the tutorial if you like any of the exact colors. 

First I used a ridge filler base coat because my nails are a little bumpy. If yours aren't then it's not too important in my opinion. 

 Second I used one coat of the pink. If it's not opaque enough for you use two light coats but don't use too much because we have other coats still and dont want it to be too thick because it takes a lot longer to dry and it can get messed up really easily. 

 Third I used a pure white and made a diagonal line from one corner to the opposite corner in one sweep as to make a straight line. again one coat. Use two light coats if you want it more opaque. If you're super shaky wait for the pink to dry and use tape to make your diagonal line but take the tape off almost immediately. If you wait for the paint to dry on the tape it will peel some of the paint off with it most of the time. I didn't wait for my pink to dry completely so it goes into the white a bit but I kind of liked the look. 

 After this I took a nail dotting tool and put a white clear holo or glitter polish on a credit card I dont use and took a pretty big dot and made a line down the white diagonal line I just made (as seen in picture) obviously a thin line nail brush or polish brush would be perfect but I didnt have one so I improvised. Again if you don't have these tools or are too shaky, use tape lined up with the white but over a little so you have a little pink showing. On the pink and white line is where your glitter line will go.

 Last of the colors I used a dark blue/ black. I started at the largest part of the line and made a straight line of dots, evenly spaced. Then for the next line I made the dots in between the dots above then again did the same on the next line and so on until you reach the other side. Similar to a pyramid set up. 

 Then let dry and add a top coat or two. This is something I like to invest in. The best top coats can take your manicure to a whole different level and make it look as though you have a layer of glass on your nail. This type of top coat can take even a plain nail to a beautiful stylish looking shine. It's great for protection of the nail and helps the manicure last at least twice as long. Do not skip this step or no matter how much you spend on your polish it will chip rather soon and that seems like a waste of time and money to me. A chipped, painted, manicure is the ugliest! Trust me. 

 Since I'm a working mother always on the go my polish needs to have deep color in as few coats as possible and all layers need to dry super fast. My top coat needs to dry really fast in case my polishes are slower so this again is my most critical purchase and most critical step. 

 All of these products come highly recommended by me. They are tried and true. 

 Pink- OPI infinite shine 2... Running with the in-finite crowd

 White-OPI infinite shine 2... Non-stop white

 Blue/black-OPI... russian navy

 Glitter- OPI... Ski slope sweetie

 Top coat- OPI infinite shine step 2

Ridge filler base coat- NAILMEDIC... nail blur. Fine line & ridge filling base coat

Opi infinite shine I dont think is any better than regular opi. It doesn't give any more of a gel look in my opinion and I've tested many colors. So don't spring for it just for that reason. Just because it's more expensive doesnt always mean it's better. The top coat is better than a lot of opi top coats but you can use it with any polish. It dries quick but honestly I still prefer Sally hansen miracle gel top coat. The miracle gel colors are amazing as well. I usually don't do drug store brands for beauty but this has been my number one for as long as it's been out now. I keep trying new things but keep coming back to that.
 Opi polishes are about $9-$13 a piece. Sally hansen about $5-$6.50 NAILMEDIC from walmart about $10
 This manicure would look great in a variety of colors. Get creative girls! A good manicure can bring a little fabulous into every day with very little work.

Funny wtf of the week!

I was at a government building for about two minutes yesterday afternoon in downtown louisville, KY. After a confused parallel parking truck, and me looking like a bit++ swooping in behind him real quick because I thought he was trying for the space ahead, not behind this man pulled up. 
 He was a bleached tipped man straight out of the 90's, with the sunglasses and backwards cap to match. Hes even got a backpack to boot! Now I know we don't all have the luxury of owning a car, and some of us have to make due with other types of transportation. That may or may not have been the case here. Maybe he's so stuck in reliving the 90's he just cant bare to let this baby go!
 What made this bike even better than the obvious white gold like duct tape accesories, luxury garbage bag seat cover (obviously the most fabulous Glad garbage bags!), the seat even lifted up to expose a hidden compartment where he hid his gnarly and dirty backpack/ man purse, and the ripped handlebar with some sort of foam coming out of it like it needed any more amazing character was the fact that he got off the bike, backed it up and stood there for a moment as if contemplating the meaning of life. After a moment of this deep thought, he then moved his bike forward a few inches and sat staring a moment more. Then he went through every compartment, moved his bottle of water three times to three different compartments and double checked the rest. I didn't know what his plan was, but at this moment I'm stuck in suspense. I need to know what hes going to do with this monstrosity! Will he light it on fire since putting it down is obviously the most humane thing to do with this obviously too old bike? Will he give it a kiss and hug good bye because he loves it more than anything and cannot say good bye even when it was time to ten years ago? Who knows?! But I was about to find out.
 He spends another minute or two spacing the bike perfectly between my mini Cooper and this huge truck from the beginning, but still on the sidewalk and once he feels it's absolutely centered and perfectly symmetrical against the meter he uses a bike lock and chains his bike to the meter and walks inside the building. Does he offer to help chip in on the time for the meter? Of course not! This man is the truly cheap! We can tell that by his version of personal auto repairs. Awe! Duct tape! The mans go to fix all. I left shortly after this after my husband came walking out and I pointed out this beautiful disaster. So I don't know what adventures they continued to have but I assure you by the end of this hogs life it will be a shiny mass of duct tape and plastic and belong in some independent art museum. 
 "The brain is the most outstanding organ. It works 24 hours a day, 365 days a year until it falls in love." We see proof of that here.

Cute things babies do! An observation on how much we influence our children

My man candy is a very handy man around the home and at work. He works as lead laborer and a brick mason for a good sized brick laying comstruction company. Now that you have the back story a bit you can imagine how much our one year old son sees daddy fixing things around the house. At 8 months old he was reaching for a toy screw driver at Wal-Mart and always wanted daddies tools.
 Last month daddy was fixing the breaks, replacing them actually, and we were all in the garage keeping him company. Our son now one and a half grabbed the screw driver and got right in there. Grabbed the break pads and set them right on the wheel, and even tried to help unscrew the bolts. This has happened on different occasions of the same type.
 Then we bought him his own set of plastic power tools. Now he fixes everything he comes Into contact with.
 Keep this story in mind when you decide to do something questionable around your children. No matter what age. The older they are, the longer it has to set in. My son is 18 months and we are already at the point of an almost obsession.
 We smoke but not in front of our son any longer. We used to take him outside with us but mow we are more secretive after he showed interest in smoking and cigarettes being held in mouths.
 My mom smoked my entire life and I started sneaking around and smoking at 13 mostly because it was acceptable for her to do it.
 These things can be good or bad. My son being handy will be a great life skill but anything can be learned whether it be smoking, swearing, reading, learning, treating others nicely, really anything.
 Please don't ever think they are too young to notice because that's never true and they are always looking and watching and learning. Comment with your experiences! I would love to hear them.

Wtf funny picture lol

This is too funny. I was at family dollar with my man candy looking for cheap decorations for our new house and my man candy suddenly exclaimed, "what are they doing?!!" I look over quickly and he's looking right at a picture frame with 3 separate frames together in one item. One photo is fine, the second on the other far side is a little weird considering the middle, and the middle picture is just awful! He realized it wasnt what he thought at first, and I'm the first to admit we dont have the cleanest of minds but this looks horrible! It was too funny. I had to snap a pic. Why would you pick a picture or a pise that could be so horribly misconstrued in a FAMILY dollar! Im still lmao. Lol take a look. Tell me if you would have thought the same at first glance or are we just weirdos. :)
